OUR MISSION

Cancer Screen Week is scheduled during the first full week of December – and continues each year with the goal of helping to save more lives through cancer screenings, particularly in under-resourced populations.

OUR FOUNDING ORGANIZATIONS

Founded by The American Cancer Society, Genentech, Optum and Stand Up To Cancer, Cancer Screen Week (December 4-8) is a public health initiative to increase awareness around the potentially lifesaving benefits of getting screened for recommended cancers.

American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem.

Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, is a biotechnology company dedicated to pursuing groundbreaking science to discover and develop medicines for people with serious and life-threatening diseases.

Optum is a health services innovation company dedicated to helping people live healthier lives and helping make the health system work better for everyone.

Stand Up To Cancer is a charitable organization whose mission is to raise funds to accelerate the pace of groundbreaking translational research that can get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now.
